About the Author

I was born in New York in the same hour of the same day to the same parents as my best friend -- my twin sister, Claire. How convenient was that? When we were little, we tried all the time to trick people into mixing us up. We didn’t have a huge amount of success with that because we’re not identical twins. I grew up in Ireland, moved around a lot and now I live in Los Angeles.

My top song is Pulp's Common People. I love film/T.V., travel literature, animals, WW II history, King Leopold’s Ghost, The Snow Geese, all kinds of music, fashion (except handbags), being in Ireland on Christmas Eve, and any sport involving water in any form.

I'm glad that my Evie books have hit the shelves. I was inspired to write them by James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small series (great comfort reading in times of strife whether you're eight or eighty).  My thriller, The Exclusion Wars, about the fate of a fourteen-year-old Latino kid in hiding in New York in the year, 2025, has just been relased in the ebook edition.

If you are interested in finding out more about my writing journey -- I was interviewed      by Vanessa O'Loughlin, a tireless champion of writers everywhere.  You can read the interview here.

You can read about my journey to The Exclusion Wars in the Irish Times here.
