Marooned in Manhattan

Twelve-year-old Evie reluctantly moves to New York to spend the summer with her veterinary uncle, Scott. Evie barely knows her Uncle; she’s never been to the U.S. before, and she’s never had a pet bigger than a goldfish. Having moved around a lot as a child, she doesn’t want to leave behind the first real friends of her own age that she’s ever had.

But New York isn’t quite what Evie expected. Nothing is quite how she thought it was going to be, least of all, meeting new friends, a certain boy with an attitude and Scott’s eye-roll inducing girlfriend, Leela. This is a story about being able to laugh even when you thought you couldn’t. It’s a story about growing up.

“A funny, sweet and moving story; Evie is a wonderful character and I can’t wait to read more,” said Irish author, Sarah Webb.

The book is available for sale in book shops and online from March 3, 2014.
