Dragons' Den has a lot to answer for!

I arrived in Dublin, Ireland, a week ago. My parents’ enthusiasm for the return of an adult child to live with them has been a lot more muted than mine. No doubt they will perk up when I fix upon a definitive moving-out date. My actual childhood is so far in the past that it had become cloaked in my mind with a glow of nirvana-like freedom. That glow is fading fast. My God -- what was I thinking? Kids have many rather inconvenient restrictions on their freedom. For me, the inability to influence temperature control is up there near the top of the list.  

So my website goes live today (I hope). I’m hugely grateful to the website designer, Mark Figlozzi at Bizango author websites, for doing a great job, and for, quite rightly, ignoring all of my colour choices. It feels pretty exciting to have a website. It also feels slightly strange, like I forget to shut the refrigerator door, which I often do anyway… a trait that has never endeared me to anyone but my dog.

I’m heading back to Dublin this week. Sometimes when I land back in Ireland...
